MOLLYPIPERWEASLEY - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Molly had told herself that she was not going to be inventing spells for a while, as least not until she felt sufficiently prepared for the impending NEWT exams- though that hadn't lasted as long as she had thought. so she found herself sneaking away from the student population during her free period after lunch to tinker around with a spell she had been working on. Molly looked around as if she were doing something she shouldn't as she made her way to the attic- though she figured she was perfectly at liberty to be there, she had never heard a specific rule that they weren't allowed in the attic. Then again, not many people knew about it.
Regardless, Molly knew it would be the perfect place for fine-tuning the spell she was working on. It was a counter to Permanent Sticking Charms, though she hadn't got it quite right. While Molly had managed to remove a piece of paper she had attached to the wall with said charm, it had caused considerable damage, as well as quite a bit of foul-smelling smoke. Molly quietly closed the door behind herself, peering around at the dusty attic and smiling widely when she saw that she was alone. Thankfully, the place was her sanctuary- out of all the times Molly had been there she had been alone.
From her pocket she pulled out a slip of parchment, and then attached it to the back wall with a Permanent Sticking Charm. After a quick tug on the parchment to ensure she had attached it properly, Molly stepped back and smiled. She really did like to invent, especially when it came to things that could be useful. She had always been irked by how there wasn't a reverse to most sticking charms, especially the permanent one, and had that summer begun to work on one. Molly had barely moved her wand, however, when she heard the sound of the door opening. She mentally cursed her luck as she looked over her shoulder at...

Alexis swore to God that she would kill her sister. The damn girl just had to provoke her a couple days before the full moon. "She should know that it makes it more painful!" she muttered to herself before stopping herself. No, she doesn't know practically anything. she reminded herself. Who else would need their own sister to do her work for her? She let out a sharp laugh before continuing her loud tromp through the hallway.
She looked up to check for Peeves, remembering the tons of silver dumped onto her from midair. She still had those ghastly scars from it. Satisfied that he wasn't there, she slowly descended toward the very unknown Attic. It was practically the only place where she could be alone. Away from her pesky sisters, which was quite rare. It seemed that everywhere she turned, one of them popped up in front of her. She breathed in dust and sneezed violently, coughing before looking down and seeing a redhead standing there.
"What are you doing here?" she asked suspicously, eyeing her wand as if it was going to jump out at her and bite her head off. She felt like slapping the girl. "How do you even know of this place?"

MOLLYPIPERWEASLEY - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Molly, of all things, had not been expecting someone to walk in on her whilst she was attempting to work out the kinks in her spell. The girl was a Slytherin, Molly could tell that much from her robes, and she found herself feeling already intimidated. Not because of her house, but at the idea of talking to a stranger. She had never been socially keen, keeping her group of peers limited mostly to her brood of cousins- and a select few that had managed to break past her shell. Molly had opened her mouth to offer a tentative "bless you" to the girl since she had sneezed, but before she could get her mouth to cooperate the girl had already spoken.
Snapped might have been a better term, her words had sounded fairly aggressive. Frightened by the stranger's almost hostility, Molly instinctively took half a step backward, closing her mouth and sliding her wand back up her sleeve- its usual resting point. She scratched absently at her right elbow with her left hand, already feeling a bit awkward and unsure if she was supposed to even answer what the girl had so harshly said to her. Molly didn't even think that she had done anything wrong, unless the Slytherin was a prefect and this place was indeed, out of bounds.
She held back a sigh of relief when she didn't see a badge, though that didn't necessarily mean she was safe. She bit her lip, struggling to find her words again. "N-nothing," Molly stammered, she wasn't open about her spell-inventing with even her family and close friends, let alone complete strangers. She swallowed forcefully. "I found it last term," Molly explained in a very quiet tone when asked how she had found the place, and then returned to biting her lip.

Alexis raised an eyebrow at the girl's clear discomfort. She seemed.. almost scared of her, like a timid first year. She internally laughed at her, feeling a tiny smidgen of fondness for the girl before reminding herself that this was a stranger, not a sister.
She subconciously took a step forward to tower over the girl, the look on her face dangerous, like a wolf hovering over its cowering prey.
Her eyes narrowed at the stammer, and she scrutinized every detail of the girl's face. "Nothing, really?" she asked calmly, the side of her mouth turning up into the trace of a smirk. "No one who comes down here is up to nothing."
Alexis's smirk faded when the girl mentioned when she'd found it. She angrily reminded herself that this girl had nothing to do with the... events of last term. "Really? On what terms?" she asked casually, decidedly leaning against the wall and coughing when dust came up.

MOLLYPIPERWEASLEY - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Molly's stomach gave a nervous little jolt as the girl closed the gap between them. Was it just her, or was the Slytherin trying to be unecessarily intimidating? Surely it was obvious that she was already uncomfortable and entirely out of her element by the first words they had exchanged. Molly just hoped that she did not have the misfortune of being cornered by one of the nastier Slytherins, the ones that would tease and taunt to no end- or force her to do their homework for them. She didn't have much a social reputation, but her brains were well-known in the school.
Molly resisted the temptation to begin chewing on her fingernails, the girl was making her nervous, and when she got nervous her nails typically weren't far from her mouth. She didn't respond to the first thing the girl said, unsure if there was anything for her to even say to that. Molly chewed her lip some more, unsure of why she was so intimidated. She really did hate her awkwardness, though had never found a way to cure herself of it. She supposed that she was doomed to be a doormat forever.
"I erm," Molly began, only feeling slightly more comfortable when the girl leaned against the waall instead of continuing to loom over her, "was just walking and, erm, came across it." She was surprised she had managed to produce that many words- even if they had been punctuated by a fair few "erm"s.

Alexis smirked at the girl again, wondering how anyone could let someone step all over them like the girl was doing. She decided to take a little pity on the girl and step back an inch so she didn't loom so much over the other girl.
She raised both eyebrows at the girl as she started to speak. Alexis nearly snickered at the awkward "erms" the girl pronounced at nearly every other word. "And your so-called 'walking' happened to be near the Slytherin dungeons?" she asked suspicously, pulling out her wand and flicking it casually. The girl wasn't a prefect, so Alexis knew she wouldn't have an excuse.
Alexis stared accusingly at the girl before saying quietly, "Tell me your name." her eyes narrowed and she waited for an answer impatiently, her wand tapping against the wall and leaving sparks.

MOLLYPIPERWEASLEY - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Molly squirmed a bit uncomfortably, whatever it was this girl was almost scaring her in a way. Quit acting like a scared little girl! her conscience snapped at her, though she found herself incapable of changing her behaviour. She internally cursed her awkwardness, she didn't see any reason to not be able to speak properly to people she didn't know all that well. She bit her lip a bit when the girl asked why her wanderings had been so close to Slytherin territory. At that she couldn't help but be terribly confused, Molly frowned slightly.
"Erm, this is the seventh floor," Molly said very quietly, last she had checked the Slytherins were in the dungeons, a full seven levels below where they were now. This was more apt to be Ravenclaw or Gryffindor territory. Molly winced instinctively when the girl pulled her wand, flicking it about haphazardly. "Molly Weasley," said she when the girl demanded to know her name. She wondered why the Slytherin was putting her on the spot like this,as far as she was concerned she hadn't done anything wrong- unless it was a crime to simply be in the room the girl wanted to herself before she had even arrived.
Molly returned to biting her lip, taking another half step backward although the girl had already increased the distance between them. Her conscience was now telling her it would be a good idea to leave, but she now found herself rooted to the spot, her feet refusing to move.
